He finished the 2024 edition of Boxam in La Nucía for the categories below Elite and did well in the finals in the young men’s category. Spain closed the edition of Boxam International Youth, Junior and School Boxing, La Nucía 2024 with ten gold, thirteen silver and twenty-eight bronze. The culmination of Saturday’s day was placed by the athletes in the youth category Ismael Magharoui (-48 kg) and Yolmer Bandomo (-80 kg) who won the gold to close out the Spanish participation. We should also highlight the great Cordoban battle Jose Luis Sáezwho had to settle for silver after a great duel against Colombian Juan Pablo Franco.
This prestigious tournament brought together more than 200 athletes from 16 countries, who competed in their respective categories. The event has been put together as a luxury stage to promote youth talent on an international level, and provide a high-level platform for young boxers to gain competitive experience. The event also generated more than 2,000 overnight stays in the area, as it will continue for a Training Camp which along with the contest will serve as preparation for World Youth Championship which is celebrated in Budva (Montenegro) from October 20 to November 6.
The event was made possible thanks to the enormous support of both the City Council of La Nucía, the Alicante Provincial Council and the Generalitat Valenciana, as well as the Trinidad Alfonso Foundation. The Royal Spanish Boxing Federation has worked hard to guarantee the proper organization of the event and hopes that this tournament will continue to grow and consolidate itself as one of the most important in the international scene for boxers of school age.
