Nadal, on Alcaraz and Sinner: “We’ll see at the end of their careers”

Date:

Rafa Nadal will face his penultimate event as a professional tennis player this week in Riyadh. Take part in the ‘Six Kings Slam’, an exhibition tournament that will debut this Thursday against the winner of the match between Holger Rune and Carlos Alcaraz, along with Jannik Sinner, are the great dominators of the circuit this year and the leading candidates to do so in the next decade.

The Balearic Islander was asked about them, and he was careful. “We have to let them create their own conflicts and their own history. They need no comparison with us” he said in the DAZN interview.

“They are good. They are very young. They are already achieving incredible things, winning Grand Slams and Masters 1000… creating great numbers. These two men, Carlos and Jannik, are doing something special. I wish you all the best as you continue to grow. They are big stars. I am sure if they can stay injury free they will build an incredible career“said the champion of 22 Grand Slam titles, who asked for calm when analyzing this new rivalry.

“You have to wait, but of course. This year they have won two Grand Slams each. Number 1 and number 2 in the world. They create their own history. I don’t think this is the time to compare seasons. Because Novak is still there. Roger and I left… but that’s part of everyone’s sporting career. Now a new generation is coming. We have to let them create their own conflicts and their own history. They need no comparison with us. We’ll see at the end of their careers, then it will be time to compete with what they did and what we did.” he concluded.
