Derry Patrick Brennan is in a coma in a hospital in the United States after being hit by a car in Los Angeles

Date:

In the United States, a man from Derry fell into a coma after being hit by a car.

Patrick Brennan was seriously injured in the crash and has already undergone several vital surgeries.

Mr. Brennan was placed in a medical coma in the intensive care unit of a California hospital and his family was with him on the spot.

A Derry resident who previously lived and worked in Australia recently lived in Los Angeles and played Gaelic football for the LA Cougars.

He was enjoying the weekend before he got involved in a collision and was due to be transferred to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar, California. The GoFundMe page and the JustGiving medical billing assistance page have so far collected 50,000 000 to help the family.

“After several lifesaving surgeries performed by the medical team at Inland Valley Medical Center, today he remains in a coma, with more surgeries to come, risk of brain damage and regardless of the side. Look. In this case, no,” the spokesperson said in a statement. There is still a long way to go before we recover.

Aside from the fact that Paddy is a complete striker, Paddy has never hesitated to volunteer to spend time with less experienced players, help coaches, and just joined the club’s board of directors.

“In just one season, Paddy has gained many close friends at the club and is a key member of our community. We stand ready to do everything we can to support him and his family at this difficult time,” the spokesperson added.

“Paddy has a lot of support, but the real impact of that support, unfortunately, could depend on finances (particularly in the US healthcare system).

“In coordination with the Paddy Supporters below, we are launching this fundraising program as a central place for all Paddy members, friends, teammates and teammates to come and help Paddy recover and support his family.”

They said, “The money raised by the club will be donated to Paddy and his family to support his recovery and enable him to help as much as possible on the field here in California.

“Examples of using the fund might include paying medical bills, covering a cooked meal for him or his parents after a long (and sometimes stressful) day in the hospital, allowing his family to travel here and managing their general living expenses. They do their best to be with him.”

“A moment like this shows the strength of the community. In addition to Emigrant GAA, Paddy has many circles of friends and the community that has been positively affected, who also become an important part of the team he helps.”
