The tragedy in Valencia shook and shocked the sports worldwhich is not unusual in the severe pain of the thousands of people affected.
Unfortunately, this is not the only misfortune of recent times. At least 14 people died on Friday when a roof collapsed on the entrance to a train station in Novi Sad.in Serbia, where rescuers searched for survivors in the rubble.
The horrific incident prompted an immediate reaction from Novak Djokovicwho showed his illness through social networks.
“My heart goes out to all those affected by the Novi Sad tragedy. Our deepest condolences, thoughts and prayers to the families of the victims,” the Olympic champion wrote on his Twitter account.
Prime Minister Milos Vucevic told reporters that the day was a “Black Friday for all of Serbia and Novi Sad.”
“Regardless of the fact that this building was built in 1964, We will insist that those responsible for this tragedy be identified” he added.
Novi Sad railway station, built in 1964, was renovated in 2021 and then it was restored again this year, which was officially inaugurated on July 5.
