Any point could be key for the battle for the World Cup. And that was the basis of the fight between McLarens and Verstappen in the weekend’s short race held this Saturday at Interlagos. Lando Norris cut a few more points off Max this Saturday at classification of the 2024 F1 World Cup after the sprint race of the Brazilian GP.
The British driver, second in the championship, scraped two points off the World Championship leader thanks to an Oscar Piastri that gave him his winning position two laps from the end. So, Norris was first and scored 8 pointswith Piastri 2nd (7 points) and Verstappen in third position (6 points).
Three-time F1 champion Lando Norris continues to push for the 2024 F1 World Championship classification after the Brazilian GP sprint race, but the current general manager continues to cut his losses. This time, he achieved it by overtaking Leclerc in the race and almost passing Piastri at the end, on the last lap.
This Saturday afternoon (7:00 pm) the classification will be held, which will organize the grid for this Sunday’s race, where 25 points are still at stake (including the point for the fastest lap).
McLaren is a favorite against the clock and in the race this Sunday, but be careful as rain could rain in the race and that could change any forecast.. Furthermore, Verstappen will be fighting to keep reducing his losses to face the final 3 Grands Prix of the year with a good cushion of points in the F1 World Championship standings.
