1 UNMARK AND STICK

Wonderful minute of silence for the victims of the Valencian Community and star recognition for Aitana Bonmatí with Lamine and Lewandowski also awarded before the start of the derby.

Manolo González started with a strict 4-1-4-1 (in the second half he went to 4-4-2) while Hansi Flick gave Fort and Olmo possession but so they played more closer to Lewandowski than Casadó and Pedri.

First minutes of inspection and scoring with several chances for Lamine and Olmo. The second is a serious warning for Joan Garcia’s centre-backs who are more concerned with tracking Lewandowski than the playmaker.

Time progressed as Barça increased their offensive pace and high pressure. The result, first clean through the center of Lamine’s perica area, outside his left foot, and Olmo inaugurated the numerator. Unmarking, passes and shots shared the credit in the Spanish defensive chagrin.

With the play in the Perico field and Javi Puado too isolated, Casadó found another inside break – this time from the agile Raphinha – and served to make it 2-0 without Joan Garcia reaching before the Brazilian. Barça’s gold and blow could not be stopped despite not being able to find Robert Lewandowski.

2 THE PSYCHOLOGICAL MOMENT OF DERBI

The parakeet team wanted to come out playing short but couldn’t; Barça forced him to clear a long time for a tactical-physical victory for Iñigo Martínez and Cubarsí.

And here we are at the two most psychological actions of the derby: the goal disallowed due to the Spanish offside and FCBarcelona’s immediate response. Olmo, from outside the area, made the right shot to make it 3-0 when the blue and white team digested the annulment of the 2-1 scoreline.

The last quarter of this first action remained and the least predictable thing happened: Barça eased the pressure while the Spanish team grew mentally as they saw that they could now play more football with ball.

3 PUADO LIFTS SPANISH; AVOID THE PROBLEM Coming out of the derby with 4 goals, although 3 were disallowed, speaks well of the reaction of the parakeet team and badly of the leader in the second action saved by Iñaki Peña and, in the general rivalry, of merit of offsides achieved by his defensive line.

Barça’s progressive desperation punished Lewandowski but not the Blaugrana goalkeeper. He stopped Javi Puado from scoring two goals while offside continued to disallow goals against the Spaniard. Jofre, Omar, Tejero, Puado himself, all looking at the ball and falling off the ‘cliff’.

The threats for Barça are the blue and white captain, the unchecking of Jofre and the lateral centers of Omar until he is replaced. But this Spaniard is Javi Puado and ten others. His goal, minute 63, gave life and recovery to his teammates.

Manolo’s changes maintain the team’s offensive inertia while Flick’s only individual flashes.

Jong tried to control the game and the match but the team couldn’t get back on track. Winning start, dangerous disconnect.
