The Federal Police reported that twelve search and seizure warrants were executed on Tuesday, although it did not disclose the names of those being investigated.
The institution said that, if the facts under investigation are confirmed, they represent a crime against “uncertainty of sports results”, behavior classified in General Sports Lawpunishable by up to six years in prison.
Flamengo said in a statement that it did not have access to investigative documents, as the case remains a top secret, and said it would cooperate with authorities, while “giving its full support” to Bruno Henrique.
Also, the Rio club said that the football player is “satisfied” with their “confidence” and, “like other people, enjoys the presumption of innocence.”
Therefore, the player continues to carry out his professional activities normally, he will train and travel with the delegation this Tuesday until Belo Horizonte to play in the second leg of the Brazilian Cup next weekend.
Flamengo also recalled that there had been an investigation at the Superior Court of Sports Justice for suspicious yellow cards, but the case had been closed, although it pointed out that the club did not know if it was the same case.
The operation, called ‘Spot-fixing’, is carried out by the Federal Police and the Public Ministry of Rio de Janeiro, which began with a communication made by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) based on reports from the Association Integrity in Betting International (IBIA) and Sportradar.
