The Premier League referee, David Cootewas suspended after a video surfaced in which he was seen making calls Jurgen Klopp “German pussy” and Liverpool “Naughty team.” The clip, which appears to be from the 2020-21 season and shows a Premier League referee, is being investigated and here you can see the referee, along with another person, insulting the man who was Liverpool’s coach until last summer.
“He’s an asshole, an absolute asshole. In addition to what he did to me in a match with Burnley during the pandemic, he accused me of lying. I have no interest in talking to someone who is so arrogant. Will do I do my best not to talk to him “German pussy, fuck,” Coote said in the video, which has been circulating on social media since Sunday. Coote’s partner in the video added: “Long story short, Klopp is an asshole , in Liverpool they are assholes and we hate them.”
In another recording, Coote asked that other videos not be shared. “He can’t go anywhere, seriously,” he said, to which his partner added: “He’s a Premier League referee, let’s not ruin his career, we’re not that bad.” Liverpool believe it is inappropriate to comment on an ongoing investigation.
Coote has refereed eight games for Liverpool, seven of them with Klopp as their coach, starting with the game against Burnley. Liverpool have won five, drawn one and lost two: against Manchester City in the Carabao Cup in December 2022 and against Brighton in the FA Cup, next month.
