“It doesn’t bother me, now people are impatient to know how I get there”

Several French internationals have drawn a lot of criticism in France for their outfits. This is the case, for example, of Jules Koundé. Certainly yesterday, in the program ‘The Bridge’, the Barça defender and two teammates, Dembélé and Tchouameni, spoke about it and expressed their opinion on the matter. Koundé made it clear that, in any case, he is not affected by what people (in this case some journalists) think about his shabby clothes off the field.

Tchouaméni, who like Dembélé has been ruled out for the double Nations League commitment France now faces, started the topic. “Last time we saw a controversy in the national team because of the fact that we, the players of the French team, are starting to grow a little in the clothes we wear,” said the Real Madrid midfielder to start the debate.

“I’m not,” Dembélé defended himself, as if implying that he was dressing ‘normally’. “It doesn’t bother me,” said Jules Koundé, addressing the issue. The Barça defender has always been at the center of this clothing issue. “I know now people are impatient to know how I get there,” reacted the French right-back, with an old Sochaux shirt on his back. “Now they are waiting for what style, whether I will be eccentric or not,” he adds lyly.

Koundé, in any case, does not like how journalists respond to criticism on this matter. “I think there are ways of doing things. Usually, usually, in the media it’s done in a disrespectful way. I think everybody does what they want. It’s just a lack of open-mindedness . Sometimes it’s good to respond to hear our point of view whether you agree or not.”
