Palmeiras rejects Neymar: “This is not a medical department”

Date:

The president of the Brazilian club Palmeiras, Leila Pereira, spoke very bitterly about the coming of Neymar. The president assured in an interview for the Universo Online portal (UOL) that the deputy leader of the First Division does not think of reinforcing a footballer like Neymar, who has suffered many injuries in recent years.

The 32-year-old footballer, who is hoping to return on December 15, is out after experiencing thigh discomfort against Esteghlal in the Asian Champions League. It was his second game after being sidelined for more than a year with a torn cruciate ligament.

Pereira, company and president of the club, praised the former Barcelona player, but made it clear that he was not on his wish list, especially since Santos wanted to bring him back to the country. “He is a good player, but he will go to Santos. I don’t know, you have to ask Santos, but not here, he won’t come,” Pereira declared in an interview with UOL.

Subsequently, the president of Palmeiras mentioned the physical problems that Neymar has recently suffered, pointing out that his club is not a medical department. On the other hand, he commented that he only considers his team players who can be used immediately.

“I want to invest in someone who will come right away, who will come tomorrow if the coach decides. Palmeiras is not a medical department. “I do not accept that a player signed by Palmeiras cannot play immediately.”
