Aron Canet delivers and finishes in a big way

Date:

Aron Canet fulfilling and finishing the second half of the season that could be a turning point in his career. The one from Corbera was the winner of the Barcelona Solidarity GP, almost dominating the entire weekend and ending the year with a bang. Four victories in a season in which they finished as runners-up.

The truth is that the Spanish suffered to win in Barcelona and the start was not good at all. From being on the pole, he became almost out of the TOP10. But his speed was higher and taking advantage of the fall of important names, such as Vietti and Van Der Goorbergh, he returned.

The triumph of victory was not long in coming. With 18 laps remaining, Canet followed Manu González into the corner entering the finish line to take the lead and pull away. Everyone suggested that no one bother him anymore. And for most of the lap it was like that but in the last laps Aron’s pace dropped. He took advantage of it Manu caught up with the Spaniard although he lacked a lap to overtake him and they crossed the finish line separated by 91 thousandths.

When we asked him about the key to this change in driving between the first half of the year and the second, the Valencian was very clear: “Sports psychology”

The one who was able to overtake in the last lap, more specifically in the last corner of the race, was Diogo Moreira. The Brazilian scored ‘a Rossi’ against Ai Ogura and stole the podium from the world champion at the last moment.

The Japanese and Filip Salac closed the TOP5. Sergio García finally had a good feeling again and finished the year in a good sixth place ahead of Guevara, Arenas and Alonso López. Fermín Aldeguer, who completed the Long Lap, sealed the TOP10.
