Driver trapped – violent collision: two cars thrown into a field

Serious road accident in Neudorf near Mooskirchen in western Styria: Two cars collided with great force on the L340 last weekend and were thrown into an adjacent field.

The emergency services of the Mooskirchen volunteer fire brigade had to be deployed on Saturday afternoon after the two vehicles collided violently. Both drivers suffered unknown injuries. The fire brigade, together with the Red Cross, provided first aid until the emergency medical helicopter Christophorus 12 arrived.

The driver of one of the cars was still trapped in her vehicle and firefighters had to remove a car door using hydraulic rescue equipment. The accident victim was then carefully rescued before the injured person could be handed over to the emergency medical team.

Both injured people were taken to UKH Graz for further care. Including the subsequent security and cleaning work, the deployment of a total of 20 firefighters lasted more than an hour and a half. In addition, the Red Cross was on site with two ambulances, an emergency helicopter, three police patrols and a towing company.
