UEFA announced this afternoon that its Appeals body has upheld the sanctions imposed on Athletic as a result of the incidents that took place in the match played at the Olympic Stadium in Rome on September 26.
The Disciplinary Commission fined the red-and-white club on October 16 30,000 euros and banned the sale of tickets for the next away match as a result of throwing objects and flares in the first Europa League match played by the red. -and-whites this season.
UEFA suspended the ban on ticket sales for a two-year trial, so red and white fans were able to travel to the next away game, against Ludogorets in Bulgaria. Athletic will only have to use CAS when the two disciplinary bodies of the highest European body have declared themselves.
