Thibaut Courtois has promoted his own virtual motorsports team, called TC Esports, a commitment to electronic sports of which the Belgian soccer player has been a fan for years, the player reported on his X social network account.
This initiative joins the team that Courtois launched earlier this year to compete in the Spanish F4 championship.
“I have always wanted to have my own esports team, because simracing can also open doors to the world of motorsport and this is something we also want to bet on at TC Racing,” said the Belgian goalkeeper about Driving simulation racing single-seater.
The footballer cHe has two simulators at his home that, he says, he uses regularly “when football allows it.” “After participating in several simracing competitions and events, esports started to attract more attention,” he added about his taste for video game competitions.
Among these virtual motorsport races is the one organized by Formula 1 itself during the pandemic, where visitors can compete alongside drivers such as George Russell, Alex Albon or Charles Leclerc.
From the new project COurtois is part of the Spanish Javier Guerrawho teamed up with the Williams F1 team to enter the world of electronic sports.
