Óscar de Marcos started seven of the ten league games he played against Athletic at San Mamés. Mikel Oyarzabal, however, has been in every starting lineup presented by the Txuri Urdin team at the Bilbao stadium since the 2015-16 season. The captain of the red and white team has completed four of his ten derbies at home while the captain of the txuri urdin team has completed three of the nine he has accumulated.
De Marcos’ career in this home League against Real includes three games started as a substitute. In the first of them, the 2010-11 League, he replaced Iraola in the 50th minute after three derbies, the 2013-14 campaign, he replaced usurbildarra in the 79th minute, the now Athletic captain took over in Aketxe the 62nd minute.
On three other occasions the opposite happened: instead of replacing a colleague, he was replaced. In the 2016-17 League he allowed Saborit in the 63rd minute In 2017-18 to Iñaki Williams in the 66th and in 2018-19 to Capa in the 69th.
Oyarzabal, for his part, completed three derbies in San Mamés and in the remaining six he was successively replaced by Concha, Canales, Héctor Moreno, Merquelanz, Lobete and Sorloth.
