Colapinto’s terrible accident in Las Vegas

Date:

Franco Colapinto crashed into the wall in the qualifying session of the F1 Las Vegas GP when he entered Q2, something his teammate was involved in. Williams, Alex Albon, who was eliminated in Q1 in 18th place.

The Argentine will go for everything. He wants to be in the top 10 to continue to shine and improve his chances of securing an F1 seat for next year (like RB, under the Red Bull umbrella). That’s why he didn’t want to leave even an inch. And that, on a track as dangerous as the Vegasvery slippery, an asphalt already Verstappen He said it was “like driving on ice” because of its extremely low temperature (13 degrees on the track) and the grime of daily traffic, it can scare him. And so it was.

Colapinto went for it. He was setting a good time in the middle of Q2. But he was playing with fire. Franco received the first warning of the walls of The Strip Circuit when filing the wall of turn 5, holding it. And finally, the serious accident came at the same turn.

In turn 15, Colapinto wanted to speed up his distance from the wall on the left. He grabbed the guards with his left wheel and spat towards the opposite, hitting the right guards hard and violently.

Fortunately and due to the cars’ excellent safety measures and the protective barriers, Colapinto was able to leave the Williams on his own two feet and without suffering any injuries.

The accident of Colapinto doesn’t come at the best of timeswhere his future is at stake, and he needs to bounce back this Sunday with a good race.

Meanwhile, it wasn’t good news for Williams either, as it had a season full of accidents and wrecked parts.which means a huge cost for the team to organize in an F1 where teams have an annual budget limit that they cannot exceed.
