Elvis Smylie surprises Cameron Smith and wins the Australian PGA

Elvis Smileylocal professional, defeated former British Open champion Cameron Smith on the back nine to win the Australian PGA Championshipwhich was held on Sunday at the Royal Queensland Golf Club in Brisbane.

Smylie holed a 10-meter putt to save par at the 12th and was able to hold on despite his increased drift off the tee.

Smith birdied the 17th to cut Smylie’s lead to two shots and increase the pressure in the final roundbut their challenge ended when both players’ tee shots landed in the same bunker.

Smith missed his shot from the sand after Smylie dropped his attempt a few yards out.
