F1 has renewed its long-term contract with the Chinese GP

As the first free practice sessions began for the final event on the calendar, F1 announced through its communication channels the contract extension to the Chinese Grand Prix, which takes place in Shanghai.

The Chinese event has managed to renew itself for a long time, ensuring its presence until 2030 (inclusive) in a calendar that already has 24 events, a record reached in this campaign, and where more and more cities trying to find a place to take advantage of the enormous growth of this sport around the world after the phenomenon of its Netflix series.

The Chinese GP contract expires in 2025, next year, after returning to the calendar in 2024 after the last test held in Shanghai in 2019 before the Covid-19.

“This is great news for fans in China and a perfect platform to showcase Shanghai to the world, as millions of people will tune in on television around the world,” said event promoter Guo Jianfei.

“Our return to China this season for the first time since 2019 is a fantastic moment for the sport, and it’s incredible to see that the levels of support we enjoy in the country continue to grow year on year,” said the president of Formula. 1, Stefano Domenicali.
