Kyrgios destroys Sinner after his final words: “Yes. You tested positive for steroids”

Date:

The 2024 season has come to an end but some of the controversies of the past few months are still reverberating. The most famous, no doubt, is Jannik Sinner’s positive for clostebol, for which he did not receive a penalty because it was considered accidental.

That decision angered some of his teammates, with Nick Kyrgios at the helm. The Australian, as usual, did not bite his tongue and violently attacked the world number 1, accusing him of cheating.

Although the soufflé has declined significantly in recent weeks, a recent Italian interview reawakened the beast.

It was a difficult time. I can’t talk about it with anyone. I couldn’t breathe or call for help. “Everybody who knew me and saw me play knew there was something wrong with me,” Sinner told Esquire magazine.

“The way I feel about people is fear. I went to practice at the Cincinnati Masters 1000 facilities and I thought: ‘What do they think of me? What do they really think of me?’ I realized who my true friends are”added the ATP Finals champion.

Well, those words made Kyrgios jump, and he responded forcefully. “Yes. You tested positive for steroids. It’s very difficult to talk to other people who don’t take them“.

Jannik Sinner and Nick Kyrgios could meet again next January at the Australian Opena tournament where the world number 1 will start the season.

In its part, Kyrgios will return to official competition, from December 29 to January 5, at the Brisbane Internationalone of the tournaments before the Australian Open.

The Australian is also set to play in the December 19-22 World Tennis League exhibition event in Abu Dhabi, while Australian Open boss Craig Tiley said last month he expected to see the 29-year-old in next year’s season-opening Grand Slam.

Kyrgios has played just one singles match in the last two years due to knee, foot and wrist injuries.
