The under-14 regional football team falls on penalties against the Basque Country team, in the decisive game of the Nacional silver stage

Regional football remained with honey on its lips. The Murcian U-14 football team is one step away from winning the title of champion of Spain in the silver stage of the Spanish championship of the category held in Pontevedra.

The young Murcian footballers fell in the final on penalties and took the well-deserved title of runner-up. The Murcian side, led by Alfonso Campoy, lost 1-3 in the final against the Basque Country side after beating the Extremadura team in the penalty shootout that resolved a very even game that ended in a draw. From the 11-meter launches, the Murcian team was more successful, winning 3-1 against the Extremadurans.

Previously, the under-14 team of the Football Federation of the Region of Murcia (FFRM) defeated Aragón 1-0 in the final game of the qualifying stage of this national game in Galicia. In their first two games of the tournament, they drew 0-0 against Cantabria and won 2-1 against La Rioja.

Things got worse for the regional U-16 team. This squad started off on the wrong foot and the Murcians lost 0-1 on their debut against Extremadura. In the following game, they defeated the Navarra team 5-1 before losing again (3-0) to the Canary Islands.
