Property tycoon David Clowes will become the new owner of Derby County (which plays in the English Third Division) on Wednesday, after receiving his offer.
The Rams club are in the hands of administrators and Clowe announced on Friday his desire to remove him from that position after buying Derbyshire-based firm Clowes Developments, based in Pride Park, the Derby stadium, from previously having Derby owner Mel Morris.
Liam Rosenior has been appointed Derby caretaker manager following the departure of Wayne Rooney, who England and Manchester United announced as the top scorer on Friday. This Monday, Rosenior will lead the team at the start of the preseason. Rooney said the team “needs to be led by someone with fresh energy.”
Derby was deducted 21 points in the Championship (Second) and relegated to having passed into the hands of administrators and violating the economic rules of the EFL (England Football League).
