Fernando Alonso, “excited” about the ambition of Aston Martin

Date:

The 2024 Formula 1 season ended with Fernando Alonso entering the points zone in the last two rounds of the championship, something that gave a certain air and peace of mind to the Asturian driver after noticing some disappointment with the results achieved for most of the year.

However, Alonso wants to turn the page and is already thinking about the next two years at Aston Martin. The British team led by Lawrence Stroll has put all its efforts into trying to achieve its number one goal: winning the Formula 1 World Championship.

And the next few months will be key to start noticing improvements at Aston Martin. The arrival of Enrico Cardile from Ferrari and Adrian Newey from Red Bull, added to the entry into force of the new regulations in 2026 and the new technical improvements to the car, has been a great stimulus for Alonso, described this as “exciting project transition phase.

“The next few months will be very interesting with Enrico Cardile joining the team, the arrival of Adrian Newey in March or April and the new rules of 2025, with Honda in the team,” said the Spaniard.

“These are exciting times and I am happy to be with the team in this transition and in this exciting project, I am enjoying all the processes,” said Alonso, enthusiastic about the efforts made by owner to push the Aston Martin towards the top grill zone.
