On December 1, Edoardo Bove gave one of the scares that kept the world of football frozen. The 22-year-old Fiorentina midfielder suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest during the match against Inter Milan. Yesterday, Friday, he was discharged after 12 days in hospital and after undergoing surgery on Monday to implant a removable subcutaneous defibrillator.
There is still doubt whether he will continue playing for Fiorentina or Roma, the club he belongs to, but that will depend on whether he needs a defibrillator to lead a normal life or not. If he needs it, he needs to continue his sports career with another championship.
This Saturday he visited the squad and another in the run-up to Sunday’s game against Bologna (3pm), despite wearing shorts although for obvious reasons he still couldn’t play.
Once he gets the results of all the tests he underwent at the Careggi Hospital in Florence, his situation will become clearer.
