Girona’s registration for Champions forced, in recent months, the arrival of change that UEFA requires the Catalan club to participate in it. Linking the entity of the ‘gironina’ entity to City Group shook the offices of Montilivi on highly internal issues, so senior officials had to delve into the problems to find solutions.
This Wednesday Girona celebrates the first meeting of shareholders after the redistribution of property titles forced by team classification for the Champions League.
The relationship with Manchester City should not be a obstacle for both of them to play in the biggest continental competition. That’s why Girona and UEFA agreed on a series of changefor a longer time than allowed, to avoid the risks of being punished due to the timeshare in which both clubs fall, thus avoiding a veto. The predisposition of the ‘gironin’ satisfied the European body so, little by little, the changes were established.
So, the actions of the City Group went to a trust, during that time three new names also appeared: Matthew Shayle, Edward Hall and Paul Houston, approved by new members at an extraordinary club meeting. John MacBeath, Simon Cliff and Ingo Bank, with links to Manchester City, have now left their position, allowing new names to complete the puzzle.
Shayle, Hall and Houston are partners of Wiggin Osborne Fullerlove, a specialist international private client law firm providing bespoke legal services to high net worth clients.
Therefore, the shareholding of the ‘Girona’ entity is distributed as follows: 47% of City Group on trust, 35% Marcelo Claure and 16% Pere Guardiola.
Girona has a social capital of seven million one hundred and thirty-eight thousand three hundred and twenty euros (7,138,320.-€), divided by one million seven hundred and eighty-four thousand five hundred and eighty parts (1,784,580) registered parts of four par value (4.00.- € ) euro each of them.
