The former Brazilian international Lucas Leiva, 35, a Liverpool and Lazio player, returns to Gremio, the club which he formed. The midfielder came on free after ending his contract with Lazio at the end of last season and is ready to help Gremio return to the top category of Brazilian football.

Upon his return, Gremio hopes to take a step in quality to return to the top category after his relegation.
