After the doubts that have developed in recent months, the Grande Partenza of the 2025 Giro d’Italia will take place in Albaniawhile the organization of the race itself was made official this Monday and as has been reported in recent months. The next edition of the Giro d’Italia will start rolling with three different and by no means simple stages.
The first phase will begin at Durrës (Durazzo), one of the largest cities in Albania and a place with a long and rich history, head inland and it will only take 70 kilometers to find this first real climb of the Giro, Grace (2nd category, 13.5 km at 5.2%). Next you reach Tiranë (Tyrant), where the 22.2 kilometer circuit begins, which will be repeated twice and where the ascent to Surrel (3rd category), which must be passed in the last time less than 12 km from the finish line. In total there will be 164 kilometers.
The following day, Tirana will host a 13.7 kilometer individual time trial. This will be a quick time trial, but be careful on the climb Sauk in the central part, which will cause the road to rise, albeit quite gently, for about a kilometer and a half.
Once these first three episodes are known, the rest of the episodes will be revealed on January 13 at the official presentation of the 2025 Giro in the city of Rome.
