Jorge Martín became the fifth Spanish rider in the Motorcycle World Championship to be proclaimed world champion in the premier category. The one from San Sebastián de los Reyes, at 26 years old, repeated the act of Alex Criville (1999), Jorge Lorenzo(2010, 2012 and 2015), Marc Marquez (2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019) and Joan Mir (2020).
Recently, Jorge Martín went through the microphones of the ‘Nude Project’ and said that he has not calmly tasted all that he has achieved: “The soufflé grew to the limit and then I did not have time to stop. Event , event, travel, event, commitment… I don’t have time to sit quietly at home for four days and say: ‘What I have achieved.’ I look forward to that moment.”.
In conversation,’Martinator‘ admits that during the year there are also difficult moments and one of them was at the Japanese Grand Prix: “I crashed in the classification and started in eleventh position. I had a lot of nerves, it was terrible. Before the race I couldn’t sit, like tachycardia. I didn’t know what to do and I started watching videos of Ilia Topuria speaking. Typical motivational videos stating that everything is possible and you must believe to create. I went out and in the first lap I was third, very connected. They helped me a lot to trust and believe in myself.that’s what happened that day.”
The MotoGP world champion also described a his meeting with Topuria when the World Cup was over: “Ieffect. He held my arms tightly, he did not let go and he said to me: ‘How is your life?‘. I tried to explain and he looked at me super sharp. He is an example, and for me a lot.”
