Rybakina comes to the defense of Vukov, who was suspended by the WTA: “He did not abuse me”

Elena Rybakinasixth player in the WTA ranking, defended his former coach Stefano Vukov after he was temporarily suspended by the WTA while the governing body investigates a possible breach of its code of conduct.

Rybakina said this week that Vukov will rejoin his team, but The suspension by the WTA means that the Croatian cannot be accredited to enter player-only areas, including practice courts and training areas.

On Saturday, the 2022 Wimbledon champion told a news conference in Sydney that Vukov had “never been mistreated” in their years together. “All I can say is, he never mistreated me.
