Alavés are tinged with mourning at the start of the new year. This Tuesday the death of the historic player of Deportivo Alavés, Jesus Arambarriat 76 years old.
The Gipuzkoan has been linked to the babazorro club for a whole decade. Six years as a player (1972-1978) and four more as an assistant coach.
Arambarri arrived at Vitoria-Gasteiz and Deportivo Alavés Third Division after the military in the Royal Society and one of the architects of climbing in the Second Division in the 1973-74 season. After hanging up his boots he became an assistant coach Txutxi Aranguren (1978-1980) and Luis Astorga at the babazorro club.
Protagonist and member of the commemorative deck of cards of Centenary of Deportivo Alavés, the forward from Mondragón is one of the players most notably in the 70s.
