460 bars of Dubai chocolate weighing approximately 90 kilograms and worth approximately 2,100 euros were seized at Hamburg airport.
The smuggler (33) traveled with the trendy sweet from Istanbul to Hamburg on Boxing Day, but was stopped at customs there.
When entering the terminal via the terminal exit, a check was made for undeclared goods. The officers discovered the 460 tablets in three suitcases.
Paid 4.6 euros per bar in Istanbul
“The traveler stated that she had paid 4.60 euros on the spot for a 200 gram bar. In Germany, the Dubai chocolate from the relevant manufacturer is offered at an average sales price of 25 euros per bar,” said press spokesperson Maurice Douce.
Based on the quantity imported, it can be assumed that the chocolate is intended for commercial sale.
It is still unclear what happens to the chocolate
It cannot be imported due to lack of labeling of its ingredients or allergens. This means it must be redone or destroyed.
