Madison Keys won the American duel against Jessica Pegula and won the title in Adelaide

Madison Keys won her ninth title on the WTA circuit by winning the final of the Adelaide tournament to her compatriot Jessica Pegula, who did not live up to her status as the early favorite.

keys, number 20 in the world ranking, won 6-3, 4-6 and 6-1 after overcoming an upper leg injury in the second setboosting her confidence ahead of the imminent start of the Australian Open, which opens on Tuesday against compatriot Ann Li.
