“The final point has arrived in my career as an athlete. For me, I would continue much longer, but you have to be sensible, both in mind and body. It is difficult to finish this stage as an athlete because I want to, but the body speaks, and so I will respect,” Zanetti said in a statement.

Zanetti, 34, won Olympic gold in gymnastics in her debut London 2012 and crowned the first Latin American to win this medal in any of the categories of artistic gymnastics.
