We are deep into the second week of Dakar 2025 and the margin of error begins to be minimal. In fact, there are so many favorites in both cars and motorcycles that there are still options that we’ve almost run out of options.
In the car category, Henk Lategan He hit the table with a stage victory to settle at the top of the classification. What’s more, he was almost KO’d Nasser Al-Attiyah, who was initially the great favorite to be crowned again after the early abandonment of Carlos Sainz Sr. and Sebastian Loeb. The Qatari from Dacia lost more than 12 minutes and was more than 34 minutes behind the South African leader in the general classification.
On motorcycles, Tosha Schareina didn’t throw in the towel and kept fighting Daniel Sanderswho has been at the top of the general classification since the first day of the rally with his KTM. This Monday he was able to shave off a quarter and a half minutes with his Honda and in the general standings he is only 11 minutes ahead. For his part, Edgar Canet He went on to produce an exceptional rally and was eighth overall and leading the Rally2 category on his Dakar debut.
