Pau Navarro achieved his first Dakar stage victory

Pau Navarro This is one of the jewels of the future of the invasions for Spain. In 2023, he made his debut as a Dakar driver (he had been a truck driver since he was 16) in the SSV category and shone with the rookie ‘L’ on the back of his car with a Top-9 finish in category. . Last year he made a big leap into the top car category, at the age of 19 with an X-Raid Mini. But an accident at the start of the Dakar forced him to leave with almost no kilometers left.

This year, he will be with a Ford Ranger, but finally, Red Bull Spain took him to debut in the BBR (same structure as the official Red Bull Junior Team) in the Challenger T3 category. It took 8 stages to achieve his first victory.

Pau Navarro (Llagostera, Girona 5/27/2004) won against Paul Spieringswith an advantage of 1’23” and was overtaken by 3’48” David Zille and at 6’12” Gonçalo Guerreiro.

Pau was 4th overall in the Challenger after the eighth stage, 1h40’35” behind the leader, 1 hour and 8 minutes from the podium.

“I knew we were close to winning. We were pushing because we knew it was one of our last chances to win. In the dunes we went very calmly not to mess up and we got here. and it was great. We swallowed a lot of dust in one place, but we went well on the rocks and I was happy,” said Pau, making sure they had different tires and more pressure than their rivals, a strategy that ended . work for them.
