The International Urban Race ‘Noche de San Antón’ brought more than 14,000 runners to a magical day in a town, Jaén, with more than 100,000 inhabitants. A massive participation encouraged by the uniqueness of a test where fire and the environment are its main attraction.
The circuit is very demanding, with the hard slope of the Escuderos section and many slopes made more bearable by the heat of hundreds of torches and thousands of people who never stop cheering.
Aragonese Eduardo Menacho was one of the stars of the night with his bravery in leading the first kilometers. Climbing the Bullring, Oukhelfen launched the first change of pace to test his rivals. A few minutes later, on the slopes of Escuderos, he launched a second devastating attack with which only Soufiane El Bakkali could respond, a world star with few competitors, but he did not want to miss the event in Jaén.
Passing the cathedral, at km 7, Oukhelfen was left alone in the lead to face the final stretch with 20 seconds to spare and crossed the finish line with the torch characteristic of this test.
