Hamilton, after debuting at Ferrari: “It was one of the best feelings of my life”

Lewis Hamilton He donned the red jumpsuit and took his first lap behind the wheel of a Ferrari F1 this Wednesday at the Scuderia Fiorano test circuit, confidently experienced “one of the best feelings of my life.”

“I have been lucky enough to experience many firsts in my career, from the first test to the first race, through the first podium, the first victory and the championship, so I don’t know how many more firsts I need also experience,” Hamilton said. “But driving the Ferrari for the first time this morning was one of the best feelings of my life”the seven-time F1 world champion continued.

Despite the fog and humidity, fans spotted the 40-year-old Briton and his yellow helmet from a bridge overlooking the track, near Ferrari’s headquarters in Maranello. “When I started the car and walked through the garage door, I had the biggest smile,” Hamilton added. “It reminded me of the first time I tested an F1 car, it was a very special and exciting moment. Hamilton surprisingly announced in February that he would leave Mercedes for Ferrari in 2025 after twelve years of success with the German team, winning six of his seven world titles. Together with his new teammate, Monegasque Charles Leclerc, they will unveil the car they will drive this season on February 19 in Maranello. The first official tests will take place next week in Bahrain, before the first Grand Prix of the season, on March 16 in Australia.
