Cornet, who revealed a covid outbreak at Roland Garros that didn’t come out, will face Australian Ajla Tomljanovic in the round of 16.
Swiatek has not lost since February, in the second round of the Dubai WTA tournament against Latvian Jelena Ostapenko. He then chained 1,000 tournaments in Doha, Indian Wells and Miami on hard, as well as Stuttgart, Rome (another 1,000) and Roland Garros, on clay.
He did not compete on grass before Wimbledon.
