Roger Federerwho returned to Wimbledon a year later, has already said He hopes to play in the tournament again.
Federer visited the All Englad Club this Sunday on the occasion of the centenary of the tournament’s center court and was present on the green with some of the champions who have reigned here in history, such as Novak Djokovic, Margaret Court, Martina Hingis or Bjorn Borg.
“I’m so lucky to be able to play a lot of games on this court. It was fun to be with all these champions. I remember the excitement of coming out here to perform as Pete Sampras in 2001. Hopefully I can come back at least once more.Federer said, adding that his best memories are playing against Sampras 21 years ago and the first title in 2003 against Mark Philippousis.
Federer, who has undergone several knee surgeries in recent years, has not competed since Wimbledon in 2001 and plans a year-end comeback to the Laver Cup and the Basel tournament.
