At the leader of the contest from the first day to the last, the American JT Poston ended his clear dominance in the John Deere Classic this Sunday and captured the title along with Argentinian Emiliano Grillo who tied for second with South African Christiaan Bezuidenhout.
Poston, who last week was close to winning the Travelers Championship (eventually his compatriot Xander Schauffele), was able to sing victory at the John Deere Classic with -2 cards on Sunday (four birdies and two bogeys) and a – 21 all.
The American reached the final day with three shots ahead to his pursuers and knows how to keep that margin until the end.
For his part, Grillo scored a -2 this Sunday (four birdies and two bogeys) where he closed out his superb participation in the tournament with a -18 total.
Bezuidenhout hit the final day with a good -5 (five birdies with no bogeys) but, like Grillo, he was left with -18 overall that put him three shots behind the champion.
At the TPC Deere Run, in the community of Silvis (Illinois, USA), another Argentinean, Fabián Gómez, also participated, signing a very creditable -5 on the final day to finish with a total of -8.
The John Deere Classic was held on the same days when LIV Golf, the new and controversial league funded by the government of Saudi Arabia, held the Portland Invitational in Portland (USA).
