Success in the first edition of Costa Brava Bikepacking: Sport, Nature and Sustainability to 97 km Travel

Of the 20 registered participants, this first edition is a clear demonstration that sustainable, accessible and services designed for cyclists have a future in Costa Brava. The itinerary, designed by Cyclocat and connected to the International Network Eurovelo 8, allowed cyclists to survive a circular and fully integrated public transport experience, thanks to the connection to flaçà and Sils train stations.

This route gets it: 90 km of the cyclist routes, accessible and services designed for the cyclist. We enjoy working with campsites that have been the key to the participants to feel. The event is a successful example of circular, public and private cooperation, and sporting tourism changes, with the aim of integrating as an annual event. Both the organization and the participants agreed that the Costa Brava had all the ingredients to be a major destination on the bikepacking map of Europe.

A route with a future tour

After the success of this first edition, the Costa Brava Bikepacking team is already working in new editions, with the will to grow in the number of participants, strengthen the network of cycling services and include new itinerary improvements. The project also wants to weave alliances with other transportation destinations and operators, to make a car easier and more attractive.

Costa Brava Bikepacking closes this first edition with good sensations, looking at the future with the aim of growing, improving and continuous pedal towards a more sustainable mobility.
