“All I have to live in 2023 is that I don’t like anyone”

Date:

It’s Grand Prize Thursday in the United States and Adrián Fernández (Madrid, 20024) Attend the ‘world deportivo’ from the facilities of Las Américas circuit. On Thursday of the weekend of career, ‘pitito’ usually “Study the data from the circuit and motorcycle, memorize what march you need to put at each point in the layout and provide some turns recognizing the track”. At the doors of the third trial of 2025 Motorcycle World Cup, the leopard racing driver conquered the Secondary position in the general classification of Moto3. Adrián Fernández is going through a great professional moment. However, it is not easy and In 2023 he was found at home without a motorcycle. His dream is Fight the titleBut he wants to go step -step and his next goal is Celebrate the “that desired success”.

What is the start of the season. Third in Thailand, second in Argentina and second in general classification, only five points from the leader.

I didn’t think we were going to start like this, but it was a great start. Last year we had a great path of podiums and good results. This time we confirm and now the desired success is missing. We’re on the right path and getting points, something very important for the championship. On the team we do a very good job and there is an amazing environment, which helps to achieve good results.

How’s the start and for your sensations, you look there all year fighting for the title?

Fighting for a championship in the world is a dream, but I want to go step -step. Today I focus on Austin’s career and try to do my best. Then the next. And that’s it. When Valencia arrives, we can see whether or not I am.

What rivals do you see in the fight for the World Championship?

Moto3 is a very difficult category, with many pilots that can. So far, we see José Antonio Rueda a bit strong. There is also álvaro carpe, which makes a very good career. Angel Piqueras will also have there all year long, of course.

In what sensations do you face the United States Grand Prix? Since Honda’s final success in Austin was in 2018, I understand that it is a weekend where the goal is to lose at least possible points.

2025 is another year. Honda has not won Texas since 2018, Peró won. So, this year, we can win.

In the last eight large motorcycle awards, you made five podiums (three to 2024 and two in 2025). What is your job on and off the track to advance this step?

The team helps me a lot. I feel comfortable and like a family, enjoying and laughing as before. These are very important things that help me give my best version in terms of pilot level. So far, I’m happy with and off the track.

Is there something to improve the classification? In your World Cup sports career you have only achieved three lines. Of course, one of them is the pole position in Malaysia 2024.

Moto3 is a complex category, among other things of rebuffs. This weekend I was focused on working, to be calm on Sunday at difficult career times. This is what I work for most. Years ago I followed other pilots or searched for that turn without thinking about the rhythm. Nowadays I work alone, focusing on me and what I need to improve at that time. Of course it would be good to be more than one classification session! Going in front of it makes things easier, but it’s fine for me and I want to follow this path.

You won the World Cup in 2020 with a race and 2021 and 2022 made you start to finish. However, in 2023 you started the weather at home, without a team. How do you manage such a complex situation?

It’s not easy. Putting a television and watching a career from home is a situation that anyone wants. Everything has been learned and, lived, taught me a lot at the important and professional level, to fight something you want. That a good team like the leopard opened the doors to return to the championship, and I was welcomed by an open weapon, it was something stunning. This experience and what lived on the team helps me pursue my dream, which is nothing more than fighting for a World Cup.

At any time, it passed through the head that the World Cup train would never happen again?

I can’t fit Moto3. I was not satisfied, because what led me to this situation was the lack of results. I tried things but nothing went well, so I thought it would be best to do another way and try a larger motorcycle. I tried WorldSBK WorldSP with 600cc with the aim of returning to the World Cup, but in Moto2. The leopard door opened and I tried to take advantage of it.

The leopard gives you the opportunity and took advantage of it. In addition, in Qatar you have done a great task with the team, helping Jaume Masià punish the title.

I fought for my sporting career and for myself. He won the career and merit was his, managing a World Cup was complicated.

Your case reminds me of Aleix Espargar and Alonso López. Two pilots also at home on time, but a new opportunity came to the World Cup and began to offer their best version. Are you there?

Yes. Especially Alonso López, because it is newer. What happened to him took him as an example to follow. He returned and strengthened him more than ever, fighting for his dream. I was very happy when he returned and saw him fighting for successes.

Speaking of references. Who has been and yours?

I really like Marc Márquez. I’ve seen its races since childhood and everything you achieved is incredible, you do the same on the track. Also my brother -raúl Fernández-, who has managed to reach the motogp for a very small year. What he achieved was something very difficult. I feel a lot of admiration for my brother, so he’s fighting and for what he’s doing.

Do you usually practice?

Yes. In some motorcycles I was a bit stronger than he was. Especially in small ones, because I’m used to Moto3. He is stronger than the big ones. We help each other and give ourselves advice. Practicing him I learn and a lot of fun.

What is any of the best tips that Raúl Fernández gives you and sometimes you do well?

There was one who told me I had there, which would be like a bamboo. A bamboo needs water every day. If you don’t laugh often, die. You need to water the bamboo even if you don’t know when it will grow. You can do this in a month, in two, in three … but you have to be there, giving it. This example has been moved to my sporting career, working all the time without knowing when some results will come.

Did you hurt you to be a little brother of Raúl Fernández? I explained that people have questioned your level of being ‘brother’.

Yes. In this world it has not just passed me, it has passed many people. An example is Alex Márquez, world champion of Moto3 and Moto2 and now second to the MotOGP General. Alex Márquez is a very good pilot. ‘Being brother of’ harm, because they are always compared to you. I learned to follow my way and my sporting career, focusing on me.

In the World Cup, you share equipment with pilots such as Tree, Fenati, Deniz öncü, Jaume Masià, ángel Piqueras and now David Almansa. What did you learn from each of them?

Each one is different. Each pilot thinks differently and has unique motorcycle properties and out of the track. Each of them taught me something in particular.

Why Pitito?

When I was little, I was angry with my father and called him seven. I entered the world of motorcycles and, from the beginning, in joke mode, I put the pitito behind the monkey. I’m Pitito now (laughter).

Now that you mention your dad, how can they take two pilots to the motorcycle elite?

It’s a bit bad, especially when they see moto3 races. Fans like, but my parents are less. So many pilots are so few meters … they bring it well within what makes sense, especially if we get good results. Sometimes they saw us wrong, but how we turned the situation too. For us, they are a huge support.

Do they travel in career?

They came in some careers and they enjoyed the circuit. Other big prizes are harder and follow us from home.

And the number 31 in fairing?

I was born on January 31, 2004. It was a day indicated in my life and I put it on. I like it.

I was present at the RIFA of the 2024 Solidarity Prize of MotOGP and you lied on stage.

This is a hidden talent I have! (Series)

Thanks for your time. Good luck for the weekend and the rest of the World Cup.

Thank you very much.
