FIFA worldwide has expanded the suspension of former Venezuela women’s team coach Kenneth Zsereta, It is announced that the abuse, of all activities related to this sport for 20 years, since April 5, 2022, reported the Venezuelan Football Federation (FVF) on Friday.
Through a statement, the institution said it was a decision linked to “serious accusations of abuse subject to investigation.”
According to the FVF, the proposal reinforces its commitment “to the protection of the victims and the removal of any skill that threatens the integrity of the sport.”
In April 2022, the Federation Ethics Commission declared that Zseremeta was guilty, of which 24 players were accused of sexual abuse of one of them and submitted them to physical and psychological harassment.
The sentence for a period of 20 years has prohibited its participation in any type of football -related activity in Venezuela, which now has a worldwide effect.
The FVF said that, last March, a process began to request that the penalty had an impact on the world against FIFA, as part of its “stable determination of the struggle for justice and the active listening of victims, as well as organizing their violated rights.”
“In this recent decision, the FVF, the administrative agencies of justice in women’s sports and football are receiving a strong support for their mission,” he said.
On March 4, the Federation said the Arbitral Sports Court (TAS), a international organ -based organ of Switzerland, confirmed the penalty imposed by the FVF ethical commission against Zsereta, which is considered the “final result of a process that began more than two years ago.”
On October 5, 2021, a group of 24 Venezuelan’s 24 soccer players decided, through a statement, “break the silence” to “avoid the situations of abuse and physical, psychological and sexual harassment caused by soccer coach Kenneth Zsereta has taken many victims in women’s football and in the world.”
In it, they confirmed that, between 2013 and 2017, “many incidents have emerged around Coach Zsereta’s figure, the most common such as abuses and psychological abuse during training.”
In the text, they also explained that, in 2020, one of them “admitted that he has been sexually abused since he was 14 of the coach”, a situation that “lasted until he was fired”, in 2017.
In addition to the Zsemeta-of Venezuelan-Panameña nationality-, the excessive technical William Pino, has been charged, which has been forbidden to participate in any football activity for eight years.
