The University of Qatar, base camp for Spain at the World Cup

Date:

It is about half an hour from the airport and the stadiums where La Roja will meet Costa Rica, Germany and Japan in the first phase

The University of Qatar will be the base camp for the Spanish team during the World Cup to be held in this Arab country from November 21 to December 18. FIFA has validated the request from the Spanish Football Federation chaired by Luis Rubiales for facilities that meet the requirements of Luis Enrique and his coaching staff.

The headquarters, where Spain will be based throughout the World Cup, is located in the Al Dafna district of Doha, 28 kilometers away and less than half an hour’s drive from Doha International Airport. The facilities have two training fields that will be used exclusively by La Roja. In addition, the internationals will have a gym, recovery rooms, technical and meeting rooms, facilities equivalent to what the most important football event in the world requires.

The Al Thumama Stadium, where Spain will make its debut against Costa Rica on November 23 at 5 p.m., is just 22 km from the concentration site. A very comfortable journey that will be repeated with the rest of the fields as the furthest location of all, Al Bayt Stadium, is only 39 kilometers away. Finally, according to the FEF, the distance from the university facilities to the international press center is 11 kilometers.
