2-0: Goianiense qualifies thanks to penalties

Date:

The Atletico Goianense from Brazil beat Paraguayan 2-0 on Thursday Olympia and in the sense of charges from the penalty spot, he won 5-3, thus advancing to the quarterfinals of South American Cup soccer.

Argentine attacker Diego Churín and fellow striker Airton, who had two good goals at the start of the game, gave Goianiense victory in regulation time. In the quarterfinals, Goianiense, led by ex-lateral Jorginho, will face Uruguayan Nacional de Montevideo, who left Argentina’s Unión de Santa Fe on the road.

On the obligation to win, at least with the difference of the two goals, the ‘dragons’ enthusiastically jumped on the field and after four minutes, with a corner kick charged by Airton, Churín went ahead and determined without a problem to Uruguayan goalkeeper Gastón Oliveira.

Two minutes later, Goianiense partially leveled the series with Airton’s goal, which leveled the combined score after last week’s 2-0 defeat to Asunción.

Churín came close to scoring a third in the 17th minute with a bang that hit the crossbar and Colombian referee Wilmar Roldán disallowed another Marlon Freitas goal, two minutes later, for a advanced position.

When all seemed to be expanding the homeowners, the visiting team, led by Julio César Cáceres, began to gradually take control of their rival, who, however, retained the clearest options in first half, mainly in Airton and Shaylon.

The process of the game, with a Goianiense holding the ball but void and Olimpia controlling their defense, dominated the second half. Marlon Freitas, who scored the last goal in the lottery from eleven meters, had two clear chances before regulation time ended.
