During a transfer from Germany to Greece, the car of a 30-year-old Greek caught fire on Friday night on the Inntalautobahn in Tyrol in the Weer parking lot. The man managed to get himself to safety.
The Greek had bought the car in Germany and wanted to take it home. “About 1 a.m., the man parked the vehicle in the Weer Nord parking lot to spend the night there,” the police said.
The car was a total loss
Shortly after parking, for unknown reasons, a fire suddenly broke out in the engine compartment. “The 30-year-old was able to get out of the car himself and make an emergency call,” explains the director. The Schwaz fire brigade was able to quickly extinguish the fire. The driver was uninjured, but the car was a total loss. Due to the heat development, an adjacent plastic garbage can in the parking lot was damaged.
