Welcome Lopetegui,” the Federation announced in a comment on a short video posted on social networks showing Lopetegui that came to the agency’s chief. The clip ends with a near -technician -in -up technician saying: “I’m ready.”
The 58 -Year -old Basque signed a contract until 2027, the year of the next Asia Cup in Saudi Arabia, where Qatar was the Bicampeón protector. Former goalkeeper of Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, Lopetegui assumed the Qatar coach’s position throughout the classification campaign for the next 2026 World Cup. His first match with the Qatari team leader was on June 5 at home against Iran, following a trip to Uzbekist on June 10. As a Spanish coach between 2016 and 2018, he registered 14 wins, six draws and no defeat.
