Novak Djokovic and Nick Kyrgios they will play this Sunday (3:00 pm) the Wimbledon final. The eighth in Serbian, the first in Australian. Both ended preparations for the match on the training courts of Aorangi Park, which is attached to the All England Club and only allows accredited people.
There are a few seconds where they coincide. As the ‘aussie’ walked down the corridor, ‘Nole’, from the track, spoke to him: “It’s taken five years for you to say something nice about me (laughs).”
Without interrupting his step, Kyrgios turned around: “I stand up for you when it matters!” Novak replied: “It’s true and I appreciate it.”
This conversation was picked up by the Balkan media, including journalists Sasa Ozmowho tweeted a dialogue.
Nick Kyrgios has commented publicly that his relationship with Novak Djokovic has softened since he defended the Serb in the process that led to his deportation from Australia, in January when he tried to play in the Open. The tournament told him he could compete even if not vaccinated against covid, but the country’s Immigration Minister decided to expel him, using the rights granted by the country’s law.

});
Ironically, Kyrgios categorized his new approach as ‘bromance’ (male romance) when he learned of his passing to the final due to the forced disappearance of Rafa Nadal.
Picking up Ozmo’s tweet in an Instagram story, Kyrgios wondered, “Are we friends now?” If you invite me to a drink or dinner, I accept. Whoever wins tomorrow, will pay. “
Djokovic eventually responded through the same network. “If you buy me a drink or dinner, I accept. Whoever wins tomorrow, will pay.”
Kyrgios closed: “It’s over, let’s disco and let’s go crazy (let’s go crazy).”
