Manchester City, immersed in the market with constant ups and downs in its team, has another important short-term goal: the renewal of one of its emerging players that Pep Guardiola blindly counts.
Phil Foden is almost 22 years old but last season he established himself as a starter and City are ready to adapt his contract to the status he has gained in previous seasons on the pitch. According to the Sunday Star, negotiations between the club and the English midfielder will be very good to the point that an agreement seems close.
Foden, who is out of City academy, signed an agreement from December 2018 to June 30, 2024 and will now sign a new long -term contract that will bind him to the Manchester club until 2028.
€ 236,000 per week
In these six years, Foden will earn 200,000 pounds a week (236,000 euros) and will be one of the best paid players in Guardiola’s squad behind Kevin de Bruyne and recently signed Erling Haaland.
