Four consecutive tournaments on the junior world circuit in Barcelona

The headquarters of Royal Spanish Tennis Federation (RFET) is hosting a presentation this Tuesday Barcelona International Tennis Tour ITF Sub’18in an action that had the president of RFET, Miguel Diaz; the president of the Catalan Tennis Federation (FCT), Jordi Tamayo; and the Spanish Davis Cup captain, Sergio Bruguera.

The competition will bring together four junior world circuit tournaments to be held in the province of Barcelona between the months of August and September of 2022, in Real Club de Tennis Barcelona-1899 (23-27 August), Club Tennis Barcino (30 August-3 September), Club Tennis Vic (5-10 September) and Emilio Sánchez Academy (12-17 September)

RFET president Miguel Díaz stressed the importance of Spain being the country in the world with the highest number of junior tournaments: “We went from six to 24 tournaments and that is very important because it allows Spanish players that there is no need to stay in the big step from youth to professionals without skipping the step that matches them according to age. “

For his part, FCT president and RFET vice-president Jordi Tamayo, appreciated having the grouping in four tournaments in a row: “We should appreciate the efforts of the club organizations, they the driving force. and they show that things are going well in Catalonia. ”

Along the same lines, it is stated Nacho Juncosaevent promoter who will host the Vic Tennis Club: “Since the tournaments are played consecutively, we can see that players will be more motivated to go and play and try to get points.”

Four consecutive tournaments in Barcelona

Albert Anglesports director of RCT Barcelona-1899 added that “the collaboration opens up more possibilities for us, both in terms of image and sponsorship.”

Emilio Sánchez Academy has been organizing competitions in these categories for over ten years, as featured by its general director Marisa Sanchez Vicario: “Having these four tournaments now is an opportunity for both men and women, and to also promote the Barcelona brand.”

Barcino Tennis Club joined the calendar this year, as its sports director explained Alberto Garcia: “We’re a club that doesn’t do a lot of tournaments because we’re limited in our facilities, and that’s why we’re excited to host a tournament of these qualities.”

The presentation also features RFET’s vice president of professional tennis, Thomas Carbonell; the general director, Lawrence Martinez; and the director of sports Javier Soler; among other personalities.
