Liverpool on Tuesday confirmed Tuesday’s removal of Dorsal 20 to all Red Club teams in honor of Diogo Jota, who died with his brother André Silva in a car accident tragedy in Zamora. “Diogo Jota will forever the number 20 of Liverpool,” the entity explained on its official website. “When this number is removed from the team, we do it forever and, therefore, we will never forget it. Diogo reached us in 2020, won dorsal 20 and took it with dignity, difference and love,” added the club red.
Liverpool has heard of the preferences of most of its fans, claiming to be an awards of the Dorsal 20’s removal worn by the Portuguese striker, who died at the age of 28, in his five periods of Anfield.
“After consulting with his wife, Rote, and his family, the club may announce that the team number will be removed from Diogo’s honor and memory at all levels, including the Women’s LFC and the Academy,” Liverpool told its website. Today, Arne Slot Squad players have visited the anfield recognition area to make the floral offering.
